Biography

John Langdon who is Emeritus Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at King’s College London had a career which combined a busy clinical practise specialising in head and neck oncology and salivary gland diseases with research in the molecular oncology of head and neck cancer. He also held several senior... read moremanagement appointments at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and was appointed Director of Modernisation and Health Service Delivery at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals for some years before retiring in 2004. He was Dean of Dentistry at Baqai Medical University in Karachi from 2004 to 2006. He was President of the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists 1998-2001, The British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons 2003 and of the Section of Odontology at The Royal Society of Medicine 1998-99. He was a Board Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and served on the College Council. He was Chairman of the Intercollegiate Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery 1998-2001 and served on several government advisory committees.
