Biography

Professor Baillie is Florence Nightingale Foundation Chair of Clinical Nursing Practice at London South Bank University and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Lesley has published extensively in a range of academic and professional journals. Her edited book ‘Developing Practical Nursing Skills’ is now in its 4th edition and other recent book publications are: 'Dignity in Healthcare: a practical approach for nurses and midwives' (2011) and 'Professional Values in Nursing' (2014). Professor Baillie’s current research focuses on care transitions from hospital for older people with complex needs; dementia awareness through education; and supporting newly qualified healthcare professionals in practice. At London South Bank University Professor Baillie is course director for the Professional Doctorate in Nursing as well as supervising PhD students and leading a research theme ‘Health and Social Care Delivery’.
