J. Edward Russo is S.C. Johnson Family Professor of Management, Professor of Management and Organizations and of Marketing at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, and a member of the Field of Cognitive Studies at Cornell University. Professor Russo earned a B.S. in mathematics from Caltech, and a M.S. in mathematics and a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from the University of Michigan. He has published over three score research articles and two books, focused mainly on how people make decisions and how to help them make better decisions. His most recent book for managers is Winning Decisions: Getting It Right the First Time (Doubleday 2002). He has held faculty appointments at the Universities of California (San Diego), Chicago, and Michigan, and visiting positions at Bocconi University (Milan), Carnegie-Mellon, Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania. He has consulted for numerous public and private organizations, and been involved in the training of managers in Asia, Europe, and North America. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Society.
