Ke Zhang was born in China in 1982 and moved to the US in 2005, after graduating from Nanjing University of Technology with a B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry. Then, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Professor Chad A. Mirkin at Northwestern University until 2012, focusing on core-less spherical nucleic acids. Zhang began his independent academic career at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, in 2012. His research interests involve polymer chemistry, molecular self-assembly, and bionanotechnology. His laboratory utilizes a range of organic reactions, colloidal syntheses, and bioconjugation techniques to access nanoscopic synthetic targets for various applications including biological detection and therapeutics.
