Biography

Bing Ren, Ph.D in Management, graduated from Chinese University of Hong Kong, is a Professor in the Department of Business Administration of the Business School, Nankai University, China. She is the founder and organizer of Nankai Management Research Salon, the Executive Director of Chinese Network for Social Network Studies (CNSNS)... read moreand Former Chief Editor of the Newsletter of CNSNS. Her research interests are related to Chinese firms’ general management practice, strategic decision-making, entrepreneurship and international business. She has been examining Chinese firms’ internationalization, teaching her research cases in short seminar courses about Chinese firms’ globalization. She keeps track of a Chinese family business enterprise, focusing on her unique corporate governance structure, family enterprise’s entrepreneurship and culture, and transgenerational leadership. She is the principle investigator of three founded projects by the China National Natural Science Foundation and the China Ministry of Education, examining how entrepreneurial firms grow and innovate in a process of creating new institutional regimes or conforming to old frameworks. Prof. Ren's recent publications appear in Strategic Management Journal, Journal of World Business, Asia Pacific Journal of Management (APJM), Management World, and Nankai Business Review, etc. Bing teaches undergraduate, master and doctoral-level courses in both Chinese and English, and offers short seminar courses in English in the Global Management Education Program serving for foreign exchange students and faculties.
