Søren Askegaard (b. 1961) is professor of marketing at University of Southern Denmark in Odense. His research interests generally lie in the field of consumer culture theory. Current research projects include globalism and localisms in consumer culture and body culture, health and morality in consumer culture. He has published in numerous anthologies as well as in renowned international peer reviewed journals such as, among others, Consumption, Markets, and Culture, European Journal of Marketing, International Business Review, Journal of Consumer Culture, Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Theory, Qualitative Market Research and Psychology and Marketing. He is an associate editor at the Journal of Consumer Research, and has co-edited special issues of Consumption, Markets, and Culture, Journal of Business Research, Marketing Theory, and Research in Consumer Behavior. He is the co-author of a leading European textbook in consumer behaviour and a founder of the university-business collaboration project Brand Base.
