Maeve P. Smith is a specialist registrar in Respiratory Medicine. She graduated in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2002 and since then has been completing her training, specialising in Respiratory Medicine in the South East of Scotland. In 2007 she undertook a two year period of clinical and... read morelaboratory research in her area of interest, non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, conducting two randomised trials exploring the impact of physiotherapy and nebulised antibiotics at both a clinical and basic level. The work conducted during this time culminated in the publication of several papers, a thesis and award of an MD from the University of Edinburgh. She continues to work in Respiratory Medicine with a sub-specialist interest in respiratory infection.
