Biography

Frederic Geissmann is Professor, Arthritis Research UK chair of Inflammation Biology, and Director of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Biology of Inflammation (CMCBI) at King's College London. He received his training in medicine and immunology at the University of Paris-Descartes, and was a Post-doc with Dan Littman at New... read moreYork University. Frederic Geissmann's studies have helped characterize monocyte, macrophage, and dendritic cell subsets and their precursors in human and mice. He is currently studying the control of macrophage differentiation and functions in human, mice, and drosophila, and the contribution of the polymorphisms of macrophage-expressed genes to the genetic susceptibility to inflammatory diseases in humans.
