After postdoctoral training and a junior faculty position at the EMBL Heidelberg, Germany, he was recruited at the Associate Professor level by the French national research agency CNRS and promoted to Full Professor in 2009. He has been interested in differentiation and growth control throughout his career, with a focus on transcription factors in hematopoietic cells and macrophages.
