Amanda Proudfoot received an Honours Degree in biochemistry from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Since 1994 she has concentrated on the chemokine family, first with Glaxo, then with Serono and now with Merck Serono. Her current research concentrates on chemokine receptor antagonists.
