Biography

Gabriele Valentini received his degree in Medicine in 1975, specialized in internal medicine in 1980 and rheumatology in 1984. Gabriele Valentini has published 250 papers in peer reviewed journals, devoting his scientific activity to inflammatory rheumatic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatopolymyositis and, above all, systemic sclerosis, about which he has investigated clinical, epidemiological (subsetting and early disease), pathogenetic (T cell subsets and activity), pathophysiological (fixed vascular system), clinical (heart and joint involvement), clinimetric (activity criteria) and therapeutic aspects (cyclophosphamide).
