Doug. Brown is an Associate Professor and Head of the Victorian Spinal Cord Service, a comprehensive traumatic spinal cord service at Austin Health. He is a graduate of Monash University, under took his postgraduate physician training at the Austin Hospital and spent 2 years as Commonwealth and then Nuffield Fellow... read moreat Hammersmith Hospital in the UK where he worked on bone disease and vitamin D metabolism before returning to Australia to continue his research. He became head of the Spinal Cord Service in 1982. His current research interests are the peripheral organ consequences of spinal cord injury, physical and psychosocial aspects of SCI rehabilitation and community reintegration.
