Marlene Behrmann is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University, USA. She received her BA in speech pathology from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa and her PhD in psychology from the University of Toronto in 1991. Research in Dr. Behrmann's lab focuses on studying the... read morepsychological processes and representations that underlie abilities such as object segmentation and recognition, face recognition, mental imagery, reading and writing and spatial attention. These questions are asked within the framework of information-processing models used in cognitive psychology, as well as the neural mechanisms which are responsible for these complex abilities.
