James Bliska is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics & Microbiology at the Center for Infectious Diseases, Stony Brook University. He received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 1987. The major focus of his research is to understand how pathogenic bacteria interfere with signal transduction... read morepathways in mammalian cells. From the study of bacterial pathogenesis, he hopes to learn how bacteria cause disease and how to prevent these medically important infections, as well as increase our understanding of the cell biology of the mammalian host.
