Biography

Dr. Lisa Plitnick received an M.S. in Immunology in 1997 and a Ph.D. in Immunology in 1999 from the Albany Medical College. Following a postdoctoral fellowship in Immunotoxicology at UNC Chapel Hill, Lisa joined Merck & Co., Inc. in 2002 in the Department of Safety Assessment and Laboratory Animal Resources.... read moreLisa is currently a Distinguished Scientist serving as the Therapeutic Area Lead for Vaccines as well as a Nonclinical Safety Lead on vaccine and biologic development teams. Lisa is also the Scientific and Regulatory Advisor for the in Vivo Biologics Release Testing Group in the Merck Manufacturing Division. Lisa has extensive experience with nonclinical development of vaccines including the design of nonclinical toxicology studies as well as preparing regulatory submissions from INDs to BLAs. Lisa is co-editor of a book entitled Nonclinical Development of Novel Biologics, Biosimilars, Vaccines and Specialty Biologics and has written and/or contributed to book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles on biologics and vaccines.
