Prof. Jenny Graves Research School of Biological Sciences, The Australian National University, Australia
1 TalkBiography
Jenny Graves obtained her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. She built her career at La Trobe University in Melbourne, and recently moved to head the Comparative Genomics group at ANU and direct the ARC Centre for Kangaroo Genomics. Jenny Graves uses comparisons between genomes of humans and distantly... read morerelated animals (Australia's kangaroos and platypus are a specialty) to understand how mammal genes and chromosomes evolved and how they function. Her laboratory uses this unique perspective to explore the origin, function and fate of human sex chromosomes, and to discover novel human genes and the sequences that control them.
