Welcome to this talk about the importance of AI on pharmaceutical supply chain management. My name is Antonio Pesqueira, and for the last 15 years, I have been working with Healthcare and Life Sciences companies to navigate the intersection of operations, technology, and strategy. Currently, I'm a researcher at ISCTE University of Lisbon in Portugal and also working as a consultant for a company called DCOPI. Our core theme for today is mainly about AI that isn't just a new set of tools. It's really a potential future architecture that powers a more adaptive, resilient, and intelligent enterprise through a framework that we call dynamic capabilities.

The boardroom-level process is where these AI-driven insights can be translated into that strategic integrated business planning, or IBP. Before S&OP, so sales and operations, or IBP, were always very long, slow processes where usually we had more than, let's say, 10 different individuals from several different parts or functions from the companies that could be clinical operations, could be from quality management assurance, could be from supply chain or sales or marketing, and so on and so on. Imagine that ability to have AI simulating some of those discussions already with some of the data points, and automatically, we can have more steering committee decisions or meetings around already specific decisions that were made or proposed by the agents, and automatically, we can start having more practical discussions in terms of what are concrete scenarios that we want to validate.
