Today we're going to cover
some more types of
digital marketing.
Specifically, we will
cover email marketing
and how it can be
strategically used.
Email marketing is not dead.
Many people have written
about this topic for years.
Is email marketing dead?
Well, it's alive and well
today in a different way.

Let's talk a little more
about email marketing today.
Email marketing can result
in traffic to a website.
It can result in traffic to
specific pages of a website
where you would like
the consumer to take
a specific action, such
as purchase something
or sign up for a newsletter,
which they will also get
through email, let's say.
But another important
consideration
for email marketing is that
it may allow you to keep a
pulse of your customers.
It may allow you to
increase their retention;
so you keep your customer
for a longer time.
You have to really
consider what the goal of
your email marketing
campaign will be.
One of the biggest challenges in
email marketing where do we get
our customer email list from?
There are many different
ways to do this.
You can purchase a list
from a specific source.
Be careful and wary of
some sources which
advertise email lists.
You want to go to
reputable sources,
which have targeted
lists that are
relevant to your consumer base,
but also ones where permission,
for example, has been granted
for those consumers
on that email list.
One other way is to collect
email lists yourself.
When you have consumers
visiting your website,
if you are able to
attract them to be
able to provide their
email address to you.
That list can grow into
one very useful list
because they
deliberately gave you
their email address in order
or in exchange for
something of value
that you may have
provided to them.
That list might be a
very important list
because it's your customer and
they deliberately provided
that email to you.
