of Digital Marketing 1.

We're going to cover an overview
of some of the types
of digital marketing.

search engine
optimization, and email.
We're also going to discuss how
they can be strategically used.

Let's get started with
websites and search
engine optimization.
Search engine optimization
is abbreviated as SEO.
In the marketing world,
you'll hear a lot of people
using the terminology SEO.
This relates very
much to websites and
that's why we'll discuss
these both together.
Let's get started with a
little bit about websites.
We all know what
they are. We all
visit them quite regularly.
However, creating websites is
an important part of the digital
marketing task and our strategy.
For small businesses,
it could get quite
expensive and time-consuming
to create a website.
Therefore, there are
various services
or tools available for
small businesses to get
their websites up and running
quickly and at a low cost.
For example, some
small businesses
use platforms such as WordPress,
Wix, Squarespace,
and many others to get
their website rolling.
One of the key
benefits these tools
provide are free templates.
There's also upgraded
and paid services.
However, some of
the free templates
which look really nice and
elegant if that's
the design that
the small business
decides to choose.
They're able to
select one that fits
their needs and most
importantly is on brand.
Remember, one strategy is
to consider a template
or design that
is in line with your
brand and not just
one that you as a small
business personally like.
Remember it's the customer
first that we have
to think about.
Some of the larger
organizations will have
a dedicated development team
or a company that they use in
order to program their website
with all the bells and
whistles they think are
just right for
their organization.
One of the initial
things digital marketers
have to consider is a
domain name strategy.
That is choosing a domain
name that is memorable,
hopefully not complicated,
and also something
that feeds into
our SEO strategy which we'll
talk about in just a minute.
