Let's talk first
about why connecting
business strategy and knowledge
management is important.
Business strategy sets
the main firm's goals
in the medium and long term.
To achieve the goals,
knowledge is necessary,
thus individual
knowledge that is
people's expertise and skills
in particular domains,
and organizational knowledge
that is the knowledge
embedded in organizational
processes and routines.
Therefore, business
strategy conditions,
firm's knowledge needs, that
is, the areas of fields
where acquiring or generating
knowledge is necessary,
and also individual
knowledge needs,
that is, the expertise
of skills people
working in the company
have to acquire.
