Charles M. Kahn is the Bailey Professor of Finance and Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois. He received his PhD in economics from Harvard University. He has served as a consultant to the Bank for International Settlements on inter-authority coordination of bank regulation and as a consultant at central banks, including the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta, Cleveland, and New York, the European Central Bank, and the Bank of England, where he has researched incentive effects of payment and settlement systems.
