Efrat Tseëlon is a cultural theorist who joined the University of Leeds School of Design as the Chair of Fashion Theory in 2007. Prof Tseëlon’s research interests include the examination of concrete cultural practices and material artifacts in the areas of clothing and appearance with a dual focus on clothes... read more(visual identities) and bodies (embodied, marginal and deviant identities). In teaching she advocates inquiry-based learning. She trained in Problem-Based Learning at the University of Maastricht and introduced it to her former university UCD. This initiative won her the university’s President Award for innovation in teaching. She has a BA in Social Psychology and an MA in Media and Communication (specializing in Translation and Discourse), industry experience in organizational and marketing consultancy, and a Ph.D. from Oxford in Communicating via Clothing
