Abstract

Companies are expecting increasingly more from their business continuity management professionals to properly position and advance their organisational continuity programme. Those professionals who have the skills are being rewarded with higher levels of compensation. So, what is the secret? What are companies seeking in terms of credentials? This paper contains some tips to prepare and elevate one’s business continuity career for the future.

Author's Biography

Cheyene Haase has been an executive recruiter for 13 years, with 11 of those years specialising in the business continuity field. Her career as an executive recruiter began in Madison, Wisconsin after graduating from UW-Madison with a bachelor’s degree. Shortly after moving to southern California in 1998, she joined Management Recruiters International, where she began recruiting in the business continuity field. She subsequently decided to forge a new company solely dedicated to the business continuity field, founding BC Management, Inc. in 2000. Cheyene has previously served on the board for the Association of Contingency Planners of Los Angeles and Orange County and is currently an active professional on the editorial advisory board for Continuity Insights. In 2006, she received the inaugural ACP Hall of Fame award.
