Author's Biography

Mark Babington is the deputy director of audit policy at the Financial Reporting Council. He is responsible for the delivery of the FRC’s UK Audit Policy programme and supporting efforts to reform international standard setting for auditors. Prior to joining the FRC, Mark had a 20-year career in audit and was a director at the UK National Audit Office. For five years, he was a member of the UK government’s counter-fraud taskforce. He is former chairman of the International Colleges of Auditors and of a number of European organisations. Mark is an independent member of the audit committee of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.
