Real Estate Macroeconomics

This lecture series examines the impact of macroeconomics on the real estate market and the role of real estate in the economy. In particular the talks will look at the way real estate affects business cycles, how geographic diversification in real estate impacts on the economy, the role of debt,... read moreand how real estate crises can magnify social and economic inequality. The series will look in detail at three events in recent history: the subprime mortgage crisis in the US, unemployment in the US following the crisis, and monetary policy in the UK and its relationship with the property market there.
