Biography

Dan L. Lindsley has been a practitioner of Drosophila genetics for over sixty years. His undergraduate training was at the Universities of Texas and Missouri, his PhD was from the California Institute of Technology. His interests have included chromosome comportment during meiosis, Y-suppressed sex-linked lethal mutations, genetic control of meiosis, duplication-deficiency analysis of the Drosophila genome, and saturation mutagenesis for male-sterile mutations. He is co-author of two compendia on Drosophila mutations and chromosome aberrations: Genetic Variations of Drosophila melanogaster with E. H. Grell in 1968 and The Genome of Drosophila melanogaster with Georgianna Zimm on 1992.
