Professor Jimmy Hill holds the Chair in Entrepreneurship at the University of Liverpool Management School where he is also Head of the Marketing and International Business Division as well as Director of the newly established Centre for Enterprise. He began his university career at the Ulster Business School in 1990 before moving to the School of Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Strategy at the same University. Professor Hill then spent 2 years as a visiting Professor in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, USA, before returning to Ulster to head up NICENT (The Northern Ireland Centre for Entrepreneurship). He researches and teaches in the fields of entrepreneurship and enterprise growth and development. He consults widely to SMEs and to government on SME development. He currently sits on the Food Strategy Implementation Partnership for Northern Ireland and the boards of several companies in the food sector.
