Biography

Prof. Gian Luca Salvagno, an Italian clinician-scientist, obtained his MD in 2002, specialised in Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine in 2007, and earned a PhD in Clinical and Experimental Medical Sciences in 2015. He holds the position of Full Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology in the Department... read moreof Engineering for Innovation in Medicine at the Università degli Studi di Verona. He also serves as Director of the Clinical Laboratory at Ospedale P. Pederzoli in Peschiera del Garda (VR), an institution affiliated with the university.

With over 400 peer-reviewed publications to his credit and an h-index reflecting high impact in his field, his research spans pre-analytical variability, analytic method development (including liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry), immunometry, and novel biomarker discovery for oncologic, cardiovascular, and hemostatic disorders. In his teaching role, he leads numerous courses in laboratory medicine, medical bioinformatics and quality control of diagnostic services for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
