Biography

Richard Webber was Managing Director of the Experian division responsible for geodemographic applications between 1985 and 2005. He has been involved in the development of both Mosaic (UK’s first neighborhood classification based on data sources for multiple geographic levels) and Acorn neighborhood classifications, the two most commonly used geodemographic systems... read morein the UK. Today, there are few large consumer oriented organizations that do not use neighborhood classifications as a key element in their processes for retail planning, for target marketing, and for customer management. During recent years the classifications have also increasingly been used by government departments and agencies both for research purposes and for the targeting of resources. He is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing and a Honorary Fellow of the Market Research Society.
