Prof Wilkinson’s research has wide implications in human diseases such as sepsis and in poultry infections resulting in compromised food biosecurity. He has over 50 publications in the host-pathogen field using a variety of modelling methods, including in vitro cell culture, in vivo experimental models and ex vivo whole blood modelling. He has secured over £2 million in competitive grant funding.
