Prof. Scott Weiss Channing Laboratory, Harvard Medical School

Dr. Weiss is currently Director of Respiratory, Environmental and Genetic Epidemiology at the Channing Laboratory, and Professor at Harvard Medical School. He has led many multidisciplinary cooperative studies of asthma and COPD and he has international research experience in China, Norway, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Netherlands. Dr. Weiss' long-standing research interests have been in the area of environmental and genetic risk factors and natural history of asthma and COPD. He is the principal investigator or co-investigator on a total of six separate NHLBI-funded proposals in the area of the genetics of asthma and COPD. He is the author of 450 scientific publications and the author and editor of three books.
