Dr. Joanna Matthan is a clinical anatomist, medical educator, and the Dean of Academic Affairs at Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed). Dr Matthan plays key leadership roles in the field, including serving as Honorary Secretary of the Anatomical Society, Councillor of the British Association of Clinical Anatomists, and Secretary of the Trans-European Pedagogic Anatomical Research Group (TEPARG). She is widely recognised for her contributions to anatomy education and has received multiple institutional and national awards for teaching excellence.
Her research interests span anatomy pedagogy, digital education, and clinical reasoning, and she has authored scholarly articles and book chapters in these areas.
