Biography

Dr. Baker attended the University of Oxford where he was awarded a BA(Hons) in Medical Sciences (2005) and clinical medicine qualifications (BMBCh) in 2008. After obtaining further postgraduate medical qualifications (MRCP, 2011) he then attended Newcastle University where he was awarded a Masters of Research (2014) followed by a PhD... read morein 2018, funded by the Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre.

He is now an NIHR Advanced Fellow and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Newcastle University, alongside clinical rheumatology practice as an Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at Newcastle Hospitals. His research focusses on using translational and experimental techniques to better understand, monitor and predict flare and drug-free remission in rheumatoid arthritis.
