Karolin Luger received her PhD in Biochemistry from the Biocenter (University of Basal) and then proceeded to do a postdoc with Dr. Tim Richmond at the Swiss Federal Institute in Zurich where the structure of the nucleosome core particle was determined first at 2.8 and then at 1.9 Angstrom resolution.... read moreDr. Luger started her own lab at Colorado State University in 1999 and moved to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2015 when Karolin accepted the position of Jenny-Smoly-Caruthers Endowed Chair of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Research in the Luger Lab focuses on the structural biology of genome organization. The lab aims to understand the fundamental impact of chromatin architecture on genome-related processes such as regulated gene transcription, DNA replication and DNA repair.
