Dr. Michael Carey is a Professor of Biological Chemistry at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He has worked in the gene regulation field for 25 years. Along with Dr. Stephen Smale, Michael co-founded the Eukaryotic Gene Regulation summer course at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and co-wrote the gene regulation strategies book, ''Transcriptional regulation in eukaryotes: concepts, strategies and techniques''. Michael directs the Gene Regulation Program Area at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.
