Prior to joining Dharmacon Ciaran worked at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis where he developed protective strategies against cell death mechanisms resulting from gamma-irradiation, drugs of abuse and neurotoxin exposure utilizing in vitro and in vivo models. He received his Bachelors degree in biochemistry from University College Galway, Ireland, followed by his PhD in pharmacology.
