Biography

Dr. Asha Venkatesh graduated with an MBBS from Bangalore Medical College, Bengaluru, India and went on to study a post-graduate clinical Diploma in Ophthalmology at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, India. Following a brief period of clinical practice in India, she moved to the UK and began teaching Anatomy. Dr. Venkatesh... read moreis currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen where she teaches Anatomy to medical and science students. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and Fellow of the Anatomical Society (UK and Ireland). She currently leads the Year 2 MBChB Anatomy, and is the Equality, Diversity Inclusion Lead for the School of Medicine at the University. She has won several Excellence Awards for her teaching and student supervision. She is one of two Licensed Teacher of Anatomy at Aberdeen, (licensed by His Majesty’s Inspector of Anatomy, Scotland) with the responsibility for imaging regulations. Externally she is the Membership Officer of the Anatomical Society, UK and Ireland, a member of the Trans European Pedagogic Anatomical Research Group and committee member of the Anatomical Associations’ Advisory Committee, UK and Ireland.
