Janis Weber is a member of the Accounting Faculty at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and a former member of the Accounting Faculty at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), where she held the Alumni Professorship in Accounting for many years. Janis is a Certified Public Accountant, practicing public accounting for more than 20 years in Bastrop, Louisiana, where she provided tax and advisory services to small businesses and individuals, serving a large niche market of physicians. During her time in public practice, Janis was extensively involved in community and professional organizations, such as the Chamber of Commerce, community theatre, and her church, as well as various American Institute of CPAs and Louisiana Society of CPAs committees.
In the academic arena, she has been actively involved with the National Business Educators Association, at state, regional, and national levels. Online delivery of educational content with excellence has been one of the highest priorities of Janis’ teaching career. She has taught hundreds of challenging accounting courses in the online format, producing supporting video content and creating novel assignments, to underwrite learning and engagement. She was lead author of a study guide and workbook to enhance student understanding of financial and managerial accounting concepts.
She also authored multiple chapters in Openstax’s open-access textbook covering Introductory Financial Accounting. Janis has produced a large collection of YouTube Accounting videos, mostly covering topics of Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Income Taxation, garnering many thousands of views on the video-sharing platform.
