Dr. Lauren Lemkus attended the University of Cape Town and obtained a BSc in Physiology and Genetics (2007–2009) before going on to earn her MBBCh at the University of the Witwatersrand (2010–2013). She now practises as a consultant in the Division of Haematology, Department of Pathology, at the University of Cape Town and the National health laboratory service, and has been based at Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital since 2023. Actively involved in day-to-day teaching and training of haematology registrars, she also lectures undergraduate medical students at UCT.
