M. Alessandra Sotgiu attended the University of Sassari and obtained a Degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2000. After five years, she specialized in Neurology and got a PhD at the University of Sassari in 2009. She is now an associate professor of Anatomy at the University of Sassari. She... read moreheld her academic teaching activity in Human Anatomy and Microscopic Anatomy since 2006 in the following courses of the Faculty of Medicine: Medicine and Surgery, Neurophysiopathology, Techniques of Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy, Dental.
She has memberships in the Italian Society of Anatomy and Histology (SIAI) and the Trans-European Pedagogic Anatomical Research Group (TEPARG).
Her research activity is documented in manuscripts published in national and international journals on morphology and physiopathology of the central nervous system. In particular, a significant activity was dedicated to studying etiopathogenic mechanisms involved in multiple sclerosis disorder.
Her research interest also includes the study of innovative teaching strategies in the field of anatomy to improve the comprehension and retention of anatomical knowledge among undergraduate medical students.
