Dr. Petros Syrris is leading the Centre for Heart Muscle Disease research laboratory in the Institute of Cardiovascular Science at UCL. Over the years, he has contributed to the identification of novel causative genes for inherited cardiomyopathies and arrhythmia syndromes, determination of genotype/phenotype correlations in inherited cardiomyopathies and functional studies on disease-causing genetic variants in in vitro and in vivo models.
