1 TalkBiography
Dr. Susanne van Veluw is an Assistant Professor in the department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, USA. She obtained her MSc in clinical neuroscience at the Free University in Amsterdam, and her PhD at the University Medical Center in Utrecht, the Netherlands.... read moreDuring her PhD, she used high field 7T MRI and neuropathological examination in older individuals to study the impact of microvascular pathology on brain structure and function. For her post-doctoral training, she moved to Boston to work with Drs. Steven Greenberg and Brian Bacskai on microvascular pathology in patients with cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA). Her translational research lab uses in vivo MRI in patients, ex vivo MRI-guided histopathology in human brain tissue, and in vivo two-photon microscopy in mice to better understand the pathophysiology of microvascular injury in CAA.
