He has authored 250 PubMed-indexed publications, mostly on opportunistic infections, transfusion medicine, passive immunotherapies, and blood disorders, for a h-index of 37. He has received awards by the Italian Society of Hematology, the Italian Society of Experimental Hematology, and the European Federation of Immunogenetics.
