In 2003, Mir-Farzin Mashreghi earned a diploma in Biochemistry and joined the Institute of Medical Immunology at the Charité for his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hans-Dieter Volk. Afterwards,... read morehe was a senior scientist in the Cell Biology Group headed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Radbruch at the Deutsches Rheuma-Forschungszentrum (DRFZ) Berlin. Here, he investigated the function of regulatory RNAs in T helper lymphocytes in the context of autoimmune diseases. In 2016, Mir-Farzin Mashreghi became an independent group leader at the DRFZ heading the group “Therapeutic Gene Regulation”. The aim of his group is the development of novel remission-inducing therapies for patients with autoimmune diseases based on antisense-oligonucleotides.
