Marc Veldhoen has a masters in Medical Biology from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and a PhD in Immunology obtained at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), London, UK. In 2016 he took up the position of ERA Chair at the Instituto de Medicina Molecular, Lisbon, and professor for basic immunology at the faculty of medicine, university of Lisbon in 2018. His groups research continues to focus on T cell biology, especially those embedded in different tissues in the body.
