Aylin attended King’s College London where she attained a 1st Class honours degree in Human Biology. Her postdoctoral training with Prof Mark von Zastrow (University of California, San Francisco) identified novel core cellular machinery critical for receptor sorting and signalling. She was appointed as Lecturer at Imperial College London in 2007 to establish her independent group and where her group’s research continues on understanding the fundamental cell biological mechanisms regulating GPCR signal transduction, and applying these mechanisms to understand the role of this superfamily in diverse physiological and pathophysiological systems. Her work has been funded by the Wellcome Trust, BBSRC, Royal Society, MRC and Genesis Research Trust.
