Paul Fairchild began his research career in Oxford, where he studied for a doctorate in the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, focussing on the dual role of dendritic cells in allograft rejection and immunological self-tolerance. He established the Oxford Stem Cell Institute in 2007 and served as Co-Director until 2015. In 2014, he was appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult and is currently Deputy Editor of the Journal of Immunology and Regenerative Medicine.
