Dr. Ciska Veen is a tenure track researcher at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology. She completed her PhD in 2011 at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. Ciska’s research focusses on plant-soil interactions; specifically she aims at unravelling how plant-specific decomposer microbiomes drive soil carbon cycling. Ciska uses a combination of large-scale field experiments, meso- and microcosm trials and chemical and molecular tools in the laboratory.
