Biography

Wendy is an Emeritus Professor and was President Vice-Chancellor of Plymouth University in the UK (2007-2015), taking it to the top 1% of world universities, 37th among global modern universities, and 1st ‘green’ UK university. Wendy is a Council Member of the United Nations University, Director of United Planet and Adviser to the Boards of StudyPortals and EAUC The Alliance for Sustainability Education in Education. She was a Non-Executive Board Member of the UK Government’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, an Expert Adviser on the national Review of Universities and Economic Growth and supports Foresight programs for the Government Office for Science and senior leadership development for the Cabinet Office.

Wendy is a thought leader on disruption and distinctiveness in higher education and a transformational visionary leader strategist able to deliver excellence in mission-driven organizations in executive and non-executive roles and through leadership, coaching and consultancy. Her purpose lies in helping to transform lives through education and research in pursuit of social equity, the knowledge economy and sustainable development.
