Douglas R. Houston is a Senior Lecturer in Computational Biochemistry at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to attaining his lectureship in 2011, he was Scientific Program Coordinator for the Ubiquitin-Proteasome System Drug Discovery Project, a £10m collaboration between the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Toronto, and Scottish Enterprise. He has also worked as a researcher at Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals Inc. His main research focus is structural biology and computer-aided drug discovery.
